Media Release | NRL Asia & Steeden making history to support the ‘Yes She Matters’ Campaign | April 2018

Global Alms Incorporated wishes to acknowledge the generous support of the NRL Asia / ASEAN Rugby League Association in providing 100 limited edition Steeden Rugby League balls to support the ‘Yes She Matters’ Campaign.

‘Yes She Matters’ provides women an opportunity, no matter their race, religion or documented status, to receive immediate help if they have been raped, sexually assaulted, abused or caught in domestic violence.

The ‘Yes She Matters’ Emergency Assistance Team are all female and are trained across several fields including; Psychology, Mental Health, Counselling, Trauma Care and Reality Based Self Defence. They provide Emergency Packs, a ‘Yes She Matters’ Case Advocate who offers one-on-one support during police interviews & medical exams, Mental Health support, and programs for healing and personal protection.

“Of the 100 limited edition Steeden Rugby League balls provided by NRL Asia / ASEAN Rugby League Association, 90 will be sold to supporters, friends and the general public in Australia, Thailand and around the world. The remaining 10 will be signed by some of the great present and past League players, to be sold at auction. The money raised by the sale of these limited edition Steeden Rugby League balls will be used to support ‘Yes She Matters’”, says Peter Thompson, Vice Chairman at NRL Asia.

These limited edition Steeden Rugby League balls are unique and will never be sold again. This will be an opportunity to stand with women and children who have been abused, rescued from trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault. “We would like to thank NRL Asia / ASEAN Rugby League Association, Peter Thompson and all those who support what we do to make a difference in the lives of women and children”, says Garry Bradford, President at Global Alms Incorporated.
